This mixed media non-narrative animation takes us through the elusive and ineffable emotions we encounter in our dreams. As we sleep, our mind sifts through the isolation, fear, excitement, anxiety, and love that our bodies absorb each day. Every night, our dreams mold that information into our sleeping experience. We dance, we swim, we run... we see loved ones and strangers and old friends. But as we awaken, we’re left only with a delicate trace, an ephemeral glimmer of the strange, wondrous world we’ve just traversed. Through frame by frame ink paintings, charcoal modified base animation, rotoscoping, and oil pastel drawings, 'Drift' seeks to capture the ephemeral moments that define our time spent asleep.
